Lesser-Known Holidays: Always Reason To Celebrate

For those who are always looking for an excuse to celebrate, there is a holiday for virtually every day of the year. Unfortunately, many holidays are largely unknown and underappreciated.

Some of the country's most entertaining holidays provide a special opportunity to honor someone or something, such as National Mom and Pop Business Owner's Day or National Good Neighbor Day. Every April 10, brothers and sisters can celebrate Siblings Day or offices can take the IT guys out for Take Your Webmaster to Lunch Day.

Just like the forgotten holidays, people forget to give gifts for the holidays. Some of the oddball holidays deserve flowers, taking a friend out for a day at the park or getting a group to go to the movies!

Always a winner is to take someone to a favorite family restaurant such as IHOP, or to give the gift of pancakes with an IHOP gift card. The cards are available in IHOP's 1,264 restaurants nationwide and are sold in any denomination from $5 to $50.
